COBoP - Community Outcomes Bay of Plenty
COBoP is a partnership of local authority and Central Government managers from throughout the Bay of Plenty Region, established in late 2005 to support high quality inter-sectoral agency work in the Region. Its purpose is to develop new ways for agencies to plan and work together. Current sub-groups are based around:
- Economic transformation.
- Environmental well-being.
- Housing.
- Safe and healthy communities.
- Community outcomes monitoring and reporting.
Each of the groups meets monthly and works toward a three year action plan. Current and recent projects include:
- Commissioning research on the state of the Bay of Plenty regional economy.
- Guiding the establishment of a regional sustainable development strategy.
- Hosting workshops on regional environmental well-being.
- Developing a long-term regional housing strategy.
- Hosting forums on housing affordability in the coastal Bay of Plenty Region.
- Working alongside key stakeholders to develop a regional healthy homes strategy.
- Commissioning a workplace wellness assessment of COBoP member agencies to support HEHA (Healthy Eating and Healthy Action).
- Promoting the World Health Organisation's Safe Community Accreditation to local authorities.
- Monitoring and reporting progress toward local and regional community outcomes.
