Who's doing what in Rotorua? - Summary
Community consultation has identified a range of priorities for Rotorua's well-being - including safety, health, prosperity and respect for the environment. Monitoring shows the District is doing well on a number of fronts but there are still areas for improvement including:
- Community safety.
- Oral health.
- Educational engagement.
- Algal blooms on lakes.
- Road traffic crashes.
Various agencies contribute toward achieving Rotorua's Community Outcomes, both individually and through partnerships. Case studies of several major projects include:
- Community safety partnerships.
- Lakes water quality partnerships.
- COBoP - Community Outcomes Bay of Plenty.
- Bright Economy Strategy.
- Rotorua Partner Programme.
Council is also engaged in ongoing discussions to identify new strategies for promoting Rotorua's Community Outcomes including:
- Opportunities to pool resources for community projects.
- Improving communication between agencies.
- Keeping the community informed.
